Yuvonne Eileen Combs

1929 - 2007

Yuvonne Eileen Combs, 77, of Petersburg, died on Monday, August 13, 2007 at 5:15 pm at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born on September 2, 1929 in Kilbourne to Paul and Grace Bahl Dew. She married James Combs in Springfield on June 12, 1948.

She is survived by her husband, James of Petersburg; two daughters, Vicki (Milo) Vogt and Debbie (Rick) Woods all of Petersburg; four grandchildren, Lindsey (Shawn) Wilken, Brian (Melinda) Vogt, Eric (Kristen) Woods, and Emily Woods; four great grandchildren, Ally, Chelsea, Keegan, and Ella; one brother Howard Dew of Osage Beach, MO; and one sister, Lela Gilliland of Morton.

She had been a homemaker and was a member of the St. Paul’s Evangelical Free Church in Petersburg. She had done volunteer work at various places over the years. She and her husband were hosts at New Salem State Park Campgrounds.

YoYo loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed camping and the many friends she made through the years. She had always been a “Die Hard” Cub Fan.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 17, 2007 at 10:00 am at St. Paul’s Evangelical Free Church in Petersburg. Pastor Dan Roseberry will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2007 from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm at the Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Petersburg.
