Zachary Glen
Chasteen, 16, of Petersburg, died Sunday, November 19, 2006, in rural
Sangamon County. He was born April 30, 1990, in Springfield, the son of Glen
and Pamela Miller Chasteen. His paternal grandparents, Ralph and Violet
Chasteen, preceeded him in death.
Zachary was a
junior at PORTA High School in Petersburg. He was a red belt in Tai Kwon Do.
He enjoyed music, paintballing and computer gaming. He was in Cub Scouts and
achieved the rank of Arrow of Light. He also enjoyed photography. He was a
member of the PORTA Auto Mechanics Club.
Surviving are his
father and mother of Petersburg; brother, Travis Tanner of Tovey; sister,
Hailey Chasteen of Petersburg, at home with parents; maternal grandparents,
Harold and Wanda Miller of Kincaid; uncles, Ty(wife, Tabatha) Chasteen of
Springfield, Gary (wife, Julie) Miller of Dallas City and Bill (wife, Tracy)
Miller of Kincaid; and aunt, Brenda (husband, Kirk) Rhodeman of Blue Mound.
Visitation will be
from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Services will be
there at 9 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Lynn Martin officiating. Burial will be
in Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens. Memorial contributions may be made to his
family.
