Allen H. Brooks, 54, of Petersburg, IL passed away at his home on Thursday, September 3, 2020. He was born on July 10, 1966 in Springfield, IL, the son of Roger and Beverly (Bortel) Brooks. Allen is survived by his parents of Mason City, IL; one sister, May Brooks also of Mason City; one niece, Madlin Brooks and one nephew, Rex Brooks both of Mason City; many aunts and uncles; his very special, lifelong friend Laura Ash, and her grandchildren that he loved dearly. Allen was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents. Allen worked as a self-employed construction worker. He attended the Mason City Community Chapel in Mason City. Allen was an avid drag racing fan and member of the NHRA. He loved going to the drag strips and watching them race. Cremation rites have been accorded and a burial of ashes will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Mason City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mason City Community Chapel.
