Arthur "Art" L. Hays

Arthur L. “Art” Hays, 81, of Topeka went home to the Lord on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. He was born on May 31, 1939, the son of Charles W. and Florence (Naas) Hays. He worked as a farm hand, he was an experienced motorcycle mechanic, and a machinist at Caterpillar in Peoria where he retired in 2002. In his spare time he enjoyed wood working and leather crafting and collecting pocket watches and coins. He married Doris Emrick Farmer on September 28, 1973. She preceded him in death on December 13, 2014. Art leaves behind his good friends, neighbors, and caretakers Daniel “Lucky” and Sandy Regan, as well as good friends and longtime neighbors Rink and Betty McAdams. Art enjoyed going out to breakfast at Tony’s in Havana and IMO’s in Lincoln. He bought many a vehicle from Bobby Brown in Havana. Art believed that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ lived and died to save him. We also know we will see him again. He is survived by 3 children, 3 step-children, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, and 1 sister. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
