Brandon "Bumper" Armstrong

January 6, 1983 - November 3, 2020

With our deepest sorrow, we announce Brandon “Bumper” Armstrong, our most beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed suddenly on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. He was born on January 6, 1983 in Canton. For those whose lives Brandon touched, the world will forever seem a little less bright. Bumper will be missed every moment of every day by his father, Keith Armstrong, of Springfield, his mother, Lanette (Smith) Armstrong, of Havana, brother, Cody Armstrong, sister, Danielle (KC) Johnson, niece Avery and nephew Kenny, grandmother, Betty Armstrong, and several much loved uncles, aunts, cousins, and many, many beloved friends. We know in our hearts that Bumper is now with his adoring grandparents: Arlan and Yvonne Shoemaker, Roy “Dick” Smith, and Robert “Bob” Armstrong, and holding his little nephew Karson Johnson in those big bear hug arms. Bumper loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved cooking and trying new recipes. He enjoyed fishing with his friends and was especially proud of being a big brother, loving son and grandson, and super cool uncle. He was a wonderful nephew and cousin and a true “best” friend to many. He was the go to guy whenever someone needed him. His little nephew said it best, “Uncle Bumper has a big heart and he loves me very much.” He loved us all VERY much. Brandon loved his St. Louis Cardinals. He had a fantastic voice and loved singing karaoke. You could hear him sing a lot, he seemed to carry music in his soul. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. at his sister’s home, 15607 E CR 500 N in Kilbourne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to his family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements.
