Edward W. James Jr., 89, of Kilbourne, formerly of Texas, passed away at Havana Health Care at 11:45 p.m., on Saturday, November 14, 2020. He was born December 27, 1930, to Edward W. and Francis (Taft) James Sr. He married Elizabeth Best on April 12, 1949. She preceded him in death on September 16, 2017. Mr. James is survived by three sons: Robert (Vicki) James of Kilbourne, Mike James of Petersburg and John James of Eustis, Florida; five grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Marge Wanless of Springfield, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one sister, Dorothy Jones. Mr. James was of the Catholic faith. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 until 1952. He loved tractors and was a member of the Prairie Land Heritage Museum in Jacksonville, where he enjoyed attending the Annual Fall Festival & Steam Show. For several years, he had a hobby farm in the Virginia, Illinois area. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery, in Springfield, at a later date.
