John A. Yackley, 76, of Havana, passed away at Mason District Hospital, in Havana, at 1:34 a.m., on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. He was born March 21, 1945, in Havana, to Harry and Pauline (Boehl) Yackley. He married Kathy Pedigo, on November 23, 2002. She preceded him in death on September 25, 2020. Mr. Yackley is survived by two daughters: A.J. (Jim) Burgett, of Havana, Marsha (Doug) Burnett, of London Mills; seven grandchildren: Tony, Jimmy, Sammi, Mike, Heidi, Luke and Carli; eight great-grandchildren: Cameron, Lane, Austin, Memphis, Makayla, Elly, Hailey, and Abel; as well as one great-great-grandson, Maverick. Also surviving is his faithful companion, Sam. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathy, one brother Carl Yackley, and step-son Daryl Greenhalgh. Mr. Yackley worked as a semi-truck driver for many years for local farmers, and also Mason County Transfer. He loved to visit with his friends and spend time with family. He was always on the go trying to help people in need. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Rev. Mike Hopps will officiate.
