Joyce Ruthanna Ballard, 56, of Kilbourne passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 12:50 p.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. She was born on August 15, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois to Alvin and Ruby (Green) Kelley. She married Randy E. Ballard in Sangamon County on April 21, 1995. Joyce is survived by her husband, Randy, children: Lane (Ashley) Vaughn, Randi “Janae” (Regan) Ballard, and Krysta Ballard, grandchildren: Ava Vaughn, Ryker Molohon, siblings: Denise (Larry) Cass, Shannon Kelley, and Alvin (Samantha) Kelley, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father in law, one sister-in-law, and one nephew. Joyce worked for the Secretary of State of Illinois. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, float trips, cooking for others, crossword puzzles, and was an avid Wizard of Oz fan. She was full of joy and kindness and knew no stranger, many that knew her called her Momma J. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Cremation rites will follow. Memorial donations may be made to her family.
