December 7, 1948 - October 23, 2020
Louis Ray O'Hara, 71, of Manito passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2020 at Pekin Hospital. He was born December 7, 1948 in Manito to Raymond Wayne “Jack” and Elizabeth Coombs O’Hara. He is survived by one son Charles Wayne (Catherine) Smith and one daughter Chloe Cagle of Manito; one brother Michael O’Hara of Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents. Louie was a dearly beloved resident of Manito his entire life. He was known for his graciousness toward everyone he met. No one was a stranger and everyone was a friend. He followed the Midwest Central Raider’s sports teams and the Chicago Cubs. He was known for his contagious smile and kind greeting of ‘Hello you all” every time he walked into a room. He was truly an ICON in his community. Louie made a living cleaning foul for many hunters in central Illinois and refinishing furniture. He lived the simple life, enjoying the people he loved and the small things life offers. His kindness, compassion and friendly spirit will be missed by all, but those attributes will be the joy of many who now share eternal life with Louie in the presence of Jesus. Those who knew and loved Louis will look forward to the day we will see him again and be greeted with a big smile and “hello you all”. A graveside service will be held in Louie’s honor at 11 A.M. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020 at Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito. Pastor Steve Oaks will officiate. To leave an online condolence go to www.hurleyfh.com.
