Mary Nannen

Mary Burris Nannen, 82, of Green Valley passed away on March 6, 2022 at her home. She was born on October 23, 1939 in Portland, KY to Tom and Ruby (Estes) Burris. On February 19, 1961 she married Lewis Nannen who preceded her in death in 1994. Mary is survived by 2 children Lori (Mike) Ward of Elkhart and Bob (Lisa) Nannen of North Pekin, 3 grandchildren: Kirk Nannen, Koert (Katie Hill) Nannen, Michael Ward, 2 sisters-in-law: JoAnne Burris of Mason City and Betty Burris of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 brothers: Joe and Bill Burris. Mary was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Manito where she worked as church secretary and was on the Ladies League. She also worked as a trustee for Sand Prairie Township and retired as a secretary for Midwest Central Middle School. A Funeral service is planned for Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 21819 N. CR 3300 E, Manito, with Pastor James Batchelor officiating, burial to follow at Green Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Maas Hurley Funeral Home in Manito. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Green Valley Fire Department. Maas Hurley Funeral Home in Manito is in charge of the arrangements.
