Carolyn Ringhouse

Carolyn Ringhouse, 87, of Easton passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 9:05 p.m. at her daughter’s home in Groveland, Illinois. She was born in Danville, Illinois on February 18, 1937, to Homer “Bud”and Mary (Cooke) Morris. She married Robert Ringhouse on August 20, 1960 at St. Mary's Church in Canton. Carolyn is survived by her children: Mark (Betty) Ringhouse of Maple Park, Illinois, Lori (Jim) Sorg of Dallas, Texas, Todd (Corinne) Ringhouse of New Braunfels, Texas, and Lisa (Gary) Affolter of Groveland, Illinois. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Zach, Tyler, Ryan, and A.J., and two great- grandsons Brayden and Brooks. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, and sister, Christina. Carolyn graduated from St. Francis Nursing School in Peoria. She worked as a registered nurse at Mason District Hospital and Havana Medical Center for many years while raising children on the family farm. Her passion and talent for cooking were passed on to her children. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. Carolyn was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Havana where she was actively involved throughout her life. Carolyn was an incredible mother and friend to many. She was quick with a keen sense of humor; her laughter was loud and infectious especially among friends on family fishing trips. Carolyn enjoyed painting/crafting and gardening. Family and friends were blessed with many of her creations. She will be missed by all and leaves behind a wonderful legacy of love, laughter and a life well-lived. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 11am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Manito with Fr Jeff Horton officiating. Visitation will be held 9:30-11:00 am prior to the funeral services. Interment will follow at the Easton Cemetery. Memorial donations can be left in Carolyn’s name to the Tazewell County Children’s Advocacy Center. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com. Carolyn’s family would like to thank Traditions Hospice and all our home healthcare staff that helped with her care the last few years but especially Stella Strubhar for the extraordinary care she provided.
