Connie Jo Moss

Connie Jo Moss, 50, of Petersburg, formerly of Tallula, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center. Connie was born on March 3, 1967 in Springfield, the daughter of the late Larry and Barbara (Minor) Rebbe. Connie graduated from PORTA High School, she then attended UIS where she obtained her Bachelors in Science. Connie married Randy Moss at St. Peter Catholic Church in Petersburg on September 21, 1985. Through her hard work she opened her own restaurant while raising her family. From the goodness of her heart Connie fed many meals to family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers; she will always be remembered for having an open door and an open heart with a smile, a laugh, and the best home cooked food. Since 2014 Connie worked as the manager for the House Republican Communications Staff where she was blessed with many great work friends. Aside from her work Connie found the time to personally care for and be a mother figure to all of her family members. She enjoyed beautiful days spent with family and friends from Jeep riding to porch sitting. She spent many days cheering on the Cubs, but mostly she loved her trips to South Carolina with Randy to see her sons, daughter-in-laws, and her precious granddaughter Charlotte. Connie is survived by her loving husband Randy, her sons; R.C. (Stephanie) Moss, JD (Mary) Moss all of Summerville, South Carolina, her granddaughter Charlotte Erika Moss, her siblings; Corky (Jennifer) Rebbe, Brad Rebbe all of Petersburg, Robin (Anom) Lane of Lincolnwood, IL, Jason (Jennifer) Rebbe of Yale, Virginia, Ryan (Amy Nance) Rebbe of Tallula, Mike Rebbe of Edwardsville, IL, father and mother in law Carrell and Lynda Moss of Tallula, brother in law Chris (Tricia) Moss of Petersburg, as well as nieces and nephews Zack Hamerlinck, Katie Rebbe, Casey Moss, Clayton Hamerlinck, Seth Rebbe, Allison Moss, Cody Moss, Elizabeth Hamerlinck, Autum Rebbe, and Grant Rebbe. A visitation for Connie will be held on Friday, September 22, from 4-7 pm at Hurley Funeral Home Petersburg. A funeral mass celebrated by Monsignor Thomas Holinga will be held on Saturday, September 23, at 10 am at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Tallula.
