Floyd J. Williams

Floyd “JR” Williams was called home on September 4,2026. He was born December 31,1940 to Clare and Virginia (Skillman) Williams in Milan, Missouri. He married Beverly Griffin on April 23,1960. In the union of 66 wonderful years, they were blessed with three children: daughter, Deborah Cobb (Mike), son Floyd David Williams, and daughter, Denise Bayles (Jason). From those children, Junior became a grandpa of fifteen grandchildren: Michael, Michaela, Blake, Brandon, Jordan, Jenna, Megan, Kristine, Adam, Rachael, Brooke, Brendin, Roshelle, Bradin, and Reese. He was also a great-grandfather to thirty-six great-grandchildren and a great-great grandfather to one great-great grandchild. Surviving is a brother, Donald Williams, brother-in-law Bob Griffin (Judy), Sister-In-law Brenda Wetter (Kevin) and numerous nephews and nieces. All those who knew Junior knew he had many passions. From a young age, he started working. His first job was in a tire shop in Havana, Illinois. From there, he went to National by Products as a truck driver. He then went on to be an owner operator for many years until he opened the well-known business: Mason City Auto Supply/Machine Shop and Truck Service where he worked alongside with his son, David, and sister-in-law, Judy Griffin. After departing from his business, he worked for Onkens OFR. He worked hard his whole life and finally retired at the age of 75. For many years, Junior loved to spend his weekends with family and at the drag strips. He was an avid Cardinals fan, a volunteer firefighter for many years, and also at one time, a board member at the Assembly of God Church in Mason City. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Laverne Williams (Karen), sister, Darlene Evertt (Richard), sister-in-law Sharon Williams, in-laws, Leon and Lola Griffin, Sister-In-Law Betty Griffin, and Sister-in-Law Bonnie Thomas (Archie) He was a legend, was loved by many, and will be truly missed. Services will be held at the Mason City Assembly of God Church on September 11th, 2026. Visitation for the family is from 9am to 10am, and open to the public from 10am to noon. Service is to follow, and burial is at the Mason City Cemetery.
