James William Hayden

James William “Bill” Hayden, of San Jose, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 at his home. He was born in rural San Jose on October 28, 1926 the son of Willie and Gladys (Potts) Hayden. He married Nancy Horn on September 12, 1980 at Methodist Church in San Jose, IL, whom he loves very much and often called “Babe”. Surviving are his wife: Nancy, his children: Dennis (Sara) Hayden of Manito, IL, Sharon (Kevin) Hummel of Rochelle, IL, Michael (Roz) Hayden of Green Valley, IL, Pam (Roy) Rexroat of Normal, IL, Nancy Sutton of St. Pete Beach, FL, Tina (Ken) Sokolinski of Dickinson, ND, George (Terrie) Davis of San Jose, IL, and two brothers: LeRoy (Donna) Hayden of Carbondale, IL and Kenneth (Barb) Olson of Minooka, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Stephen Hayden, one daughter: Laura Andereck, as well as one sister and one brother. Bill also has 24 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great, Great Grandchildren, one mother in law: Phyllis Hoffman as well as many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed every one of the children. Bill was employed throughout the area; he loved working farm related positions, which included working for Dwight and Betty Zimmerman, Pete Clark Borden’s fertilizer, San Jose Co-op, and Bob and Luellen Betzelberger. He was a member of many area clubs and organizations such as: San Jose United Methodist church, San Jose Fire and Rescue, Lions Club. Bill served on the town board as well as the Sanitation district board. Bill was a loving husband, father and friend and will be missed by all. A memorial service will be at San Jose United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on March 7, 2016. Service will be held at 11:00am, with visitation one hour prior to the service and lunch following the service. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials be made to: Safe Haven Hospice, 628 ½ Broadway in Lincoln, IL 62656 Hopedale Medical Complex, Tremont Street, Hopedale, IL 61747.
