Mardelle M. Cufaude

Mardelle M. Cufaude, 91, of Mason City, IL died at Mason City Area Nursing Home on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 12:45 PM. She was born on October 9, 1923 in Mason City, IL to Allen and Ruth (Scoville) Corson. Mardelle married Clyde Cufaude in Mason City, IL on December 29, 1946. He passed away August 11, 2013. Mardelle is survived by one son, Daniel A. (Vinnie) Cufaude of Canton, IL, and three daughters, Rosanne (Jim) Drechsel of Plano, TX, Cathryn (John) Rechner of Downers Grove, IL, and Amy (Steve) Becker of Carlyle, IL., twenty-three grandchildren: Katy Drechsel, Jenny and Chad Mahoney, Michael and Christy Drechsel, Eldon Sprague, David Cufaude, Denise Hyman, Brandi and Robert Morris, Darren and Angie Cufaude, Abbey and Brian Green, Georgeanna and Kurt Neven, Emma and Dan Cecchin, Jessa and Eric Barnard, Cassie Becker, Mary Becker and John Becker, and twelve great-grandchildren: Alex Cufaude, Brady Cufaude, Zach Hyman, Andrew Hyman, Jacob Hyman, Sam Hyman, Jack Mahoney, Maggie Mahoney, Madison Cufaude, Hunter Cufaude, Avery Drechsel, and Sarah Green. She is also survived by one brother-in-law, Howard Cufaude, one sister-in-law, Jeanne Corson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers. Mrs. Cufaude graduated from Stephen’s College in Missouri and then began working at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis. She also worked at Lehn and Fink and for the State of Illinois. Mardelle was a member of the Mason City Methodist Church and a member of the D.A.R. She enjoyed her family and playing cards with her friends. She loved making Heath Bar coffee cakes at Christmas and sharing them with her family and friends. Visitation for Mardelle will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City, IL, on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 PM at Hurley Funeral Home. Pastor Curt McAllister will be officiating. Burial will follow at Mason City Cemetery in Mason City, IL.
