Marsha K. Bowers

Marsha Kay Bowers, 71, of Springfield, formerly of Mason City, passed away at her residence on the evening of December 19, 2023 surrounded by family and the people she loved. She was born on September 13, 1952 in Lincoln to Marshall Leroy and Marian Kathryn (List) Robison. She married Charles “Pete” Bowers on March 11, 1978 in Mason City. Marsha is survived by her husband and soulmate of 45 years, Pete, daughter Wendy (Joel) Rodgers, granddaughter Hannah (Jason) Buckles, and grandsons: Noah (Angel Dix) Burton and Elijah Burton, 3 brothers: John (Cindy) Robison, Robert (Ginny) Robison and Dr. William (Laura) Robison and sister Patricia (DeWayne) Pace. She was preceded in death by her parents Marshall and Marian Robison and brother Richard (Dick) Robison. Marsha was a 1970 graduate of Mason City High School. She worked at Memorial Medical Center as a Radiology Transcriptionist for 44 years and was selected as Employee of the Month in 1994. Marsha was passionate about spending time with her large, unconventional family and cherishing every second of time she was gifted. Marsha had many hobbies and joys, including a passion for playing piano and singing, decorating for all holidays (especially Christmas), eating all sweets (especially chocolate lasagna from Olive Garden, ice cream, and cookies), Disney and Mickey Mouse, Coca-Cola, The Peanuts cartoon characters, Hallmark cards, and spoiling the grandkids. Marsha was the go-to advice giver of the family, and always knew exactly what to say. Marsha will be remembered as a supportive, encouraging and loving wife, mom, and mimi who always had a smile, even when times were tough. She had a quiet strength and never stopped fighting for the people she loved. A celebration of Marsha’s life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City. Visitation will be held the same day from 9:00 AM until the service begins at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow the service at the Community Chapel in Mason City.
