Patricia A. Blair

Patricia A. Blair, 74, of Chandlerville passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Mason District Hospital. She was born on July 24, 1950 in Springfield to Warren and Betty (Arthalony) Siltman. Pat is survived by 3 children: Gretchen (Todd) Hodgson of Kilbourne, Marinda (David) Behrends of Sheffield, and Brandon (Hailey) Blair of Petersburg, 7 grandchildren: Cole (Jordyn) Hodgson, Hannah Hodgson both of Kilbourne, Tate and Toby Behrends of Sheffield, and Paisley, Piper and Presley Blair of Petersburg, great granddaughter Madelynn Hodgson and sister-in-law Jeanne Hogg. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sandra Siltman and her ex-husband Steve Blair. Knowing Pat was knowing love and kindness. She served many communities, which meant the world to her, for over 40 years as a paramedic even up to her last hour. Pat’s greatest joy was her family. Being a nurturing person, she did as much as she could for her children, grandchildren, and her friends that she considered family. Her most treasured moments were those when her home was bursting at the seams with family and friends! Pat loved to cook, and she was excellent at it! Maybe a little heavy with the salt shaker at times but her food was always delicious and comforting. She cooked enough to feed an army. Her macaroni and cheese was a magic cure for any ailment. In the last years of her life she greatly enjoyed outings with “the ladies” which is something she didn’t get to experience until recently due to her many years of serving others. She finally got to eat a hot, uninterrupted meal, and you can bet it was fried chicken! Pat knew all the best places to get good fried chicken! Pat graduated from Chandlerville with the Class of 1968. She worked for many years at MECCA. She established the CAV EMT organization to train, mentor, and work alongside a countless number of EMTs. Pat helped establish the Cass County 911 service and served on its board. She was a lifetime member of the Chandlerville American Legion Auxiliary and the Chandlerville Christian Church. She served on the Chandlerville Cemetery Board and the Cass County Mental Health Board. When Pat wasn’t with family, she was volunteering or helping someone else! She had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh. Her love, kindness, and service to others will not be matched. We all should work harder to be more like Pat! A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 10:00 at Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville, burial to follow at Chandlerville Cemetery, Pastor Brian Eilers to officiate. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM also at the funeral home.
