Sandra Hand Brown 1944-2017 Sandra Hand Brown, of Pleasant Plains, passed away at 10:22am Thursday, January 26th at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, ILL She was the daughter of William H. Hand Sr. and Mable Pyle Hand. Sandra’s career was bookkeeping for Mann’s Station in Pleasant Plains and moved with the business to Champion Gas & Oil at Bradforton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: William Jr., Jim. Sam, and Donald, and her sisters: Dorothy, Gail, and Carrie Mae. She is survived by her sons: Jim (Becky) of Dallas TX, and Don (Jane) of Athens, IL. Her four grandchildren: Nick (Haley), Jerry (Amber), Lisa (Logan), and Kate. Also her 3 great grandchildren: Elsie, Addalyn, and Amelia, brother-in-law Duane Turley, and sister-in-law Naomi Hand. Along with several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services are under the direction of Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. A funeral service for Sandra will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 30, at 12 noon. The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 11 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Pleasant Plains.
