David Arthur Behrens

David Arthur Behrens, 67, cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on March 14, 2024, at his home in Bloomington, IL. He was born on July 10, 1956, in Greenview, IL, to Frank Arthur Behrens and Shirley Goben Behrens. On July 2, 1976, he married Pamela Pillsbury, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and adventure. He was preceded in death by his father; father-in-law, Earl L. Pillsbury, and mother-in-law, Genevieve Pillsbury; his nephew Cody Fagan, niece Alexis Pillsbury, and sister-in-law Teresa Pillsbury. David's life was marked by his dedication to family, community, and service. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his wife Pamela; daughter April Davenport and son-in-law Anthony Davenport; grandsons Matthew, Daken, and Xavier Davenport; mother Shirley Behrens; sisters Sheila and Susan Behrens; brother Drew (Shelly) Behrens; sisters-in-law Paula (Robert) Throckmorton and Patricia (Michael) Heder; brothers-in-law Douglas, Scott (Mindy), and Howard (Jill) Pillsbury; and numerous nieces and nephews. A man of many talents and passions, David found joy in watching sports, caring for his yard and pool, and soaking up the sun on the beach. His Friday night fish fries were legendary, bringing friends and family together for good food and laughter. He found fulfillment in his work in the electrical industry and later in his contributions to the North Naples Church and Village School. Above all, David treasured his role as a grandfather, reveling in the opportunity to watch his grandsons play sports and sharing in their victories and joys, either in person, via live stream, or through GameChanger. His love and presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, followed by a Celebration of Life at Indian Creek Farmstead, located at 19468 Curtis Blacktop Road, Petersburg, IL 62675. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Moffitt Cancer Center specified for pancreatic research.
