Linda Lou Estep

Linda Lou Estep, 80, of Courtyard Estates in Monmouth, Illinois, passed away surrounded by loved ones at 8:56 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at OSF St. Francis in Peoria, Illinois. She was born in Morrison, Illinois on July 1, 1944 to Arvid and Marjorie (Hutzel) Hamilton. She was married to Larry Clyde Estep on May 18, 2011, and he preceded her in death on February 18, 2014. Linda is survived by her sons, Kevin and Bruce Brooks and Steve Buckley; grandchildren, Kristyn (Aaron) Ferch, Cassandra (Brian Taube) Rivera, and Tyler Rivera; great-grandchildren, Harper Fox, Beckham and Rowyn Taube, and Aaliyah Rivera; sister, Connie Delgado; brother, Larry (Teresa) Hamilton; and nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Davy, Teresa, and Patrick. She also cared for many others, the Harris family, and unbiological grandkids, Kayla Thrap, Dakota Docherty, Hailey Smith, and Amber Jochim, along with many others. She is preceded in death by her long-time companion, David Harris; parents; daughter, Jamie Daggett; husband; and nephew, Michael Hamilton. Linda enjoyed singing and dancing, especially to the Statler Brothers. Before her last marriage she had changer her last name to Statler due to her love for them. She loved attending church, she had completed her ley speaking classes, and enjoyed sharing the gospel. She loved gardening, one of her favorite spots to be was in her strawberry patch. She was a very hard worker. Linda was a member of the Laborer’s Local 309 since 1979, until her retirement. She enjoyed karate, which earned her the nickname “Karate Gram”. She loved all animals and enjoyed the company of her cats. Most of all, she loved her kids and grandkids. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Fenton Cemetery in Fenton, Illinois, with an informal dinner to follow at Harvest Bakery in Erie, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made in Linda’s name to the Crossing Church of Monmouth or Betty’s Garden of Courtyard Estates in Monmouth.
