Mardelle Osing

Mardelle Osing, 85, of Havana, Illinois, passed away at her home at 6:53 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2022. She was born March 25, 1937, in Peoria, Illinois to Ralph and Marietta (Hackman) Bruning. She married Dale Osing at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana on August 21, 1960. Dale and Mardelle were married for 62 years. Dale is mourning her loss. Also surviving are her son Tony (Glee) Osing, her grandson Tanner (Jen) Osing, and her great-granddaughter Olivia Rose Osing; as well as her son Todd (Karen) Osing and her grandsons Aaron and Andrew Osing. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her sister, Marisue Wilson. Mardelle graduated from Havana High School in 1955 and then attended Western Illinois University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Education. She was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority and was nominated for homecoming queen. Mardelle taught business classes at Balyki High School until it closed, went on to serve a variety of businesses, and then served the Mason County Circuit Clerk until her retirement. Mardelle enjoyed shopping, playing bridge, attending St. Louis Cardinals baseball games, watching her grandsons grow and play sports, taking care of her flowers, and soaking up the sun. Her family would like to recognize and thank Dr. Le-Lindqwister of Illinois Cancer Care for her many years of exceptional care, as well as Mardelle’s wonderful team of at-home caregivers. Her caregivers worked so hard to not only give outstanding care, but also dignity and respect to Mardelle. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Havana Church of Christ, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Bill Boyce will officiate. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Mardelle’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Mason District Hospital.
